Hoping a student trip to Italy will help him escape his troubled past, Dylan finds that misfortune has a way of stalking him. Armed with his sketchbook and his beloved grandfather’s journal, Dylan dreams of following in his grandfather’s artistic footsteps. Instead, he is drawn into a dangerous quest by a magical sprite seeking an ancient treasure buried in Pompeii. What follows is a breathtaking adventure as Dylan and his tiny companion dodge the long claws of a coldblooded syndicate pursuing the same prize. Along the way, Dylan uncovers family secrets buried just as deep as the treasure he desperately seeks.

I wrote most of this manuscript during the pandemic lockdown to help compensate for the travel restrictions we all faced. Below are some of the images I used to describe several of the settings in the book.
